How to be a better person - develop your character

'life is a journey and becoming better everyday is the goal.'

Commit yourself to the continuous pursuit of self improvement!

The thirteen virtues according to Benjamin Franklin

1.TEMPERANCE
… Or SELF CONTROL.
"Eat not to dullness; drink not to elevation."
-do whatever it takes (healthy diet, workouts, change in lifestyle, habits) to maintain coolness of clearness of head which is so necessary where constant vigilance has to be kept up.

2.SILENCE
"Speak not but what may benefit others or yourself; avoid trifling conversation"
Listen instead of speaking and you will gain knowledge.
Also, it helps to break a habit of careless conversation, which only makes one acceptable to trifling company.

3.ORDER
"Let all things have their places, let each part of your business have its time"
Everything has its place and time. By establishing/ achieving order, you can get more time for the pursuit of other worthy causes.

4.RESOLUTION
"Resolve to perform what you ought; perform without fail what you resolve"
Resolution, once habitual, will keep you firm in your endeavors to obtain all the subsequent virtues.
IF YOU SAY YOU'RE GOING TO DO SOMETHING, DO IT!

5. FRUGALITY
Waste nothing.
Value and be grateful for what you have.

6.INDUSTRY
"Lose no time, be always employed in something useful, cut off all unnecessary actions.
Frugality and industry produces affluence and independence and makes the practice of sincerity and justice easier.

7..JUSTICE
"Wrong none by doing injuries or omitting the benefits that are your duty"

8.SINCERITY
"Use no hurtful deceit; think innocently and justly and speak accordingly"

9.MODERATION
"Avoid extremes."

10.CLEANLINESS
"Tolerate no uncleanliness in body, clothes or habitation. "

11.TRANQUILLITY
Be not disturbed. Let nothing steal your peace.

12.HUMILITY
Never think you're better/superior to anyone else. Never Judge, be always kind and compassionate
